Community Hall

The Community Hall is centrally located in Ballyhaunis Town, opposite St. Patrick's Church on Upper Main Street, and short walk to many retail and dining options. The Eir Code is F35 Y337.

We have room hire available for community groups, corporate events, fitness classes, private functions, and more. Scroll down for details.

Largest space located on the ground floor. Wooden flooring with a raised stage at the end. Capacity of 150 people standing and 90 people seated.

  • Costs include use of kitchen for tea/coffee, heat, water, electricity, waste removal and available chairs and furniture in the room. Kitchen supplement applies when kitchen appliances, e.g. hob, dish washer, are used for cookery demonstrations, serving meals, etc.

  • Commercial Usage: Defined as activities including dance classes, art classes, fitness classes, etc where the organisers charge a fee to those attending.

  • Community Usage: Defined as not-for-profit/voluntary organisations such as residents’ associations, community meetings, playgroup, support groups, etc.

  • Private Usage: includes birthday parties, family celebrations, etc. Please enquire for more details.

  • Rates applied are not for profit but are required to cover light, heat, water, waste removal and other costs incurred throughout the year. Rates are subject to change. 

  • Extras such as tea/coffee can be provided at an additional cost.

  • For long-term bookings/projects, we would be happy to discuss rates with you and a suitable discount may apply.

  • Proof of insurance required. If unable to provide proof of insurance, we require documentation to indemnify the Hall Committee, which we can supply.

  • Groups are required to follow relevant health/COVID guidelines and regulations including contract tracing and supplying PPE equipment.

  • Full payment required 24 hours in advance for one-off events. For recurring events, payment required at the beginning of the month.

  • Events can be rescheduled provided room is available. 24-hour notice required.

  • 48-hour notice for cancellations to avail of refund.

Submit your room hire request to the Hall Committee by filling out the booking form. We advise to submit your query as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee your preferred room will be available, but we shall try to accommodate your requirements to the best of our ability.

Biggest upgrade since 1940s

The Community Hall completed its biggest refurbishment since 1940.  A new roof was installed along with outside paint works in 2019. With support from LEADER and SEAI, the renovation works include modern heating, new flooring, widened stage, new kitchen, and new toilets to make the facility more comfortable and accessible to the community. Internal renovations began May 2021 and completed in October 2022.
