The Defib Group organised an event to launch its fundraising campaign for the committee on September 2 at the Community Hall. Mayo Person of the Year Darren Forde attended as a special guest to share his inspirational insights on the evening.
The Defib group was founded in 2009 to empower the local community with life-saving defibrillator public access and training, thereby ensuring prompt response to cardiac emergencies and increasing survival rates.
The 12 defibrillators located throughout Ballyhaunis and surrounding areas are in need of an upgrade. Siobhan Walsh, Lisa McConn and Alma Gallagher are running the Dublin City Marathon to raise vital funds to ensure that the defibrillators in Ballyhaunis and surrounding areas are enhanced with the most up-to-date technology as they could save your life.
Your contribution to the Fundraiser will ensure that the defibrillators across the parish will not only be upgraded for many years to come but will continue to be accessible to the public if needed in the event of an emergency.
